Thesaurus

A thesaurus (plural thesauri or thesauruses) or synonym dictionary is a reference work for finding synonyms and sometimes antonyms of words. They are often used by writers to help find the best word to express an idea:

Activity

One child up the front of the classroom with a thesaurus infront of the children.

One child chooses a word.

The child up front looks for the word in the thesaurus.

Once the child has found the word, they then read out a few of the others ( words below ), from the word in the thesaurus, said by the other child, to all of the other children. If they can’t find the word chosen by the other child, the child just says a new word to the child up front.

Educational and fun.

The Teacher then chooses a new child to continue the Activity and so on.
